Yesterday we talked about the wind, or that spiritual presence that carries us into purpose and action. As spirit we are so creative, and in our physical translation we are so busy. Our mind spins a million miles per second, or something thereabout, and no matter which way we can always create the perception that something else must be done. It’s all about action.
Then we sleep. We break away from the consciousness of the world, slow down most every part of ourselves, and call it our time of restoration. January 9, 2010 is 6 Akbal, the Night and the House in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar.
It may seem odd to devote a whole day to the night, yet we must. There are those times when we exercise our power within the world to such a degree that nothing new stands a chance. How else do we slide those amazing ideas into our consciousness?
When we use night in the sense it was intended it is a very private time, hence the reference to Akbal as both the night and the house. Dim the lights, take the attention off the distractions, and calm the world enough to hear the beating of one’s own heart.
When we talk about things that go bump in the night, how often is it the idea that finally has a chance to emerge?
