Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

Mix it up, that’s what makes the world an exciting place, the variety in even the most ordinary situation.   Today is January  28, 2010, and 12 Ik, the Wind in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar.  Ik holds many meanings, the breath of life and the spirit within us. Today we’ll talk more of the comparative between our physical environment and the more subtle ways of spirit.

The wind is a great carrier, and that is vital to our health and wellbeing.  Today as I walked the wind carried to me the sounds of a hummingbird who was quite intent on being noticed.  My four legged walking companion captured the aroma of whatever could have been hiding along the hillside.  Giving credit where it is deserved, the wind aids us in discovery and exploration beyond our own back door.

Today is Ik, and it is the twelfth day as well.  Change is around the corner, and tomorrow we will stand on the brink of new 13 day period.  Mix it up, that is what we will do, for every combination will repeat itself, but will never be the same.   Today is indeed a great day for observation, assigning new meaning to what we see as we integrate those bits into our memories.
