One of the words used to describe Kan is the lizard. As I look into the spiritual meaning of this day and the combination presented by the Mayan Tzolkin calendar I do see the lizard with a simple message.
There comes a time when we must enjoy our lives. Simple enough is its meaning, to stand in one place, look around, and enjoy the bounty and beauty of what we have.
Today is Friday February 19, 2010 and 8 Kan the Seed in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. The number eight is often associated with abundance and money, and we have found ourselves with the concept of the symbol we know as money engraved deeply into our lives. Money is but one of the many signs of prosperity. We can be rich with love, fellowship, wisdom.
Today is a day we can take that stance, and for a moment enjoy what we have created. There will be tomorrow, with more to come, but how much enthusiasm can we have for what is still at least a day away if we cannot enjoy what we have in this moment?
