Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

Many people are looking for that next big success, hitting the jackpot, scoring that huge deal.  How do we reach that point?  How big are the steps that take us there?

Today is Saturday February 27, 2010, and it is 3 Eb the Road in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar.  People ask me why I focus on the Mayan calendar, not knowing what it signifies or how it fits in to our current lives.  The best answer I can give them is that ever “bigger picture” is filled with a million tiny parts.

Today is 3 Eb, with Eb meaning “the Road”, but the focus of Eb is also prosperity and abundance, the vessel as in “My cup runneth over”.  This sounds very much like that “bigger picture”, doesn’t it?  It also sounds like a lot like hitting the jackpot.

Life doesn’t happen in one big score or one big success though.  It is a series of moments, days, steps, breaths, thoughts, actions.  Take a look at the literal translation of Eb, the road, and you will see thousands of rocks, grains of sand, blades of grass, etc.  Put it all together and you have one heck of a big road.

I hear your question: We have an idea of what Eb means, but how does this fit into “my life”?  Looking forward toward your future success it can mean recognizing that even though you are not there you are on your way, and every step counts.  Looking back, you can appreciate all the steps it took to get here, the people who helped you along the way, the lessons you learned.  Standing in the middle, “Being Here Now” it means appreciating the fact that you have solid ground to stand on, and many choices and options along the way.
