The Breath behind our Actions

Yesterday was such wonderful day, and its easy to get caught up in the wonderment and miss the subtle nuance of change. How many times in life do we say things like, “I didn’t see that coming”?  It pays to pay attention to the breath behind our actions.

Today is Wednesday February 17, 2010 is 6 Ik, the Wind in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar.  After yesterdays playful sound it seems like today is a bit parental.  The symbol of Ik is a sign of life, like the first breath, the presence of spirit in the worldly form.  At this point we are not even talking about awakening, or any realizations, just being.

Spirit moves quickly, much faster than a body ever could.  Change can come in the blink of an eye, in ways we do not perceive much like the movement created by the wind.  We do not see the wind, the force behind the movement, only the object moved.  So it is with the interaction between body and spirit.  We do not typically see our spirit presence, most of what we see is the reaction, the movement of the physical body, but spirit is there nonetheless.

It pays to pay attention, and notice those subtle levels where change first takes place.  As we bring more attention to the breath behind our actions we open a whole new doorway to awareness.
