The One or the Many?

We already know that life is full of ups and downs, and the Mayan Tzolkin calendar certainly captures that roller coaster.  Yesterday we had that unmistakable quality of water.  You can reach into the water and take a specific handful, yet as soon as you pull your hands away there is no longer much indication of the shift.  What remains quickly fills the space, creating a new normal.

But that was yesterday.  Today has its own qualities and tones.  Today is Friday, February 5, 2010, and it is 7 Oc the Dog in the Mayan Tzolkin and the Mayan Daily Insights.   Each day builds upon the last, and when we look on those ebbs and flows we might even see how the dots connect.

I lied to you.  I said I had moved on from yesterday, but really I haven’t.  If you haven’t read it, or don’t remember please take this moment to go back to it.  The idea lingered that for every moment we can see it as a little speck of time, but we can fill that speck with as much of ourselves as we choose.  Still the world does adapt, and will always flow no matter what.  How much can anything we do make a difference?

Today we have another thought to chew on, the idea of consistency and commitment.  We can stand here with a bite of bread in our mouth, and that’s about it.  No one will look at us and define us for that moment.  But carry that thought into a series and you might actually see many loafs, and ingredients.  You might remember the steps taken to produce your outcome, and the tools used to complete each task.  It is then that others see you as the baker, and know what you offer to the world.

The water is one part of this process, and without it everything just falls apart, but it is our consistency that gives life a reflective consistency.   Is it the bread of life that sustains us, or do we shape the world through our own commitment?  I guess we make a statement with both the one and the many.
