Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

In today’s posting we’ll take a little turn, stepping out of our mindful thinking.  The influence of Imix comes to us today with the message that sometimes it’s not about what we think, sometimes its better just to feel.

The first image I saw upon asking for today’s message was the alligator’s jaws closing, and with a glimmer in its eyes conveying the words, “Welcome to the world”.  Sure, it’s not always the most pleasant experience being in this world, but it is experience nonetheless.

Tuesday February 16, 2010 is 5 Imix, the Alligator in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar.  The fifth day is usually a little upsetting to the comfort we create around us.  The young bird will eventually be pushed out of the nest, and clinging to its safety zone will do it no good.

Yesterday was really special with that wonderful light and the feeling of “ahh”, but today we shake things up a little with a very simple realization of the wonderment of something as simple as a feeling. Not everything has to have meaning.  Sometimes you just have to feel the mud between your toes and enjoy it for what it is.
