Mayan Daily Insights: One Day, One Insight

This morning began with my first intent to write my post for the day.  Though I do try to have the post completed at the least the day before, it does not always work out that way.  The computer was on, and I sit looking at the blank page.  What did I do to remedy this?  Turn to Facebook, where a good friend saw me online and initiated a chat.

I’m a believer of right place, right time, and that we can’t always guess where our next opportunity or answer comes from.  As the conversation continued the lights brightened, at least in my thoughts.. it’s still dark outside, but not nearly as dark as I imagine it to be.

Today is Monday, March 15, 2010, and 6 Lamat the Star in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar.  It’s a new moon time, but it is in no way lacking, the moon still circles across the sky.  The stars are out, and in the paleness of the moon they stand out even more.  The stars are always there, whether we look at them or not.  These things are not what changes, it is our perceptions that change, and with that I’d say that if we have so much latitude in the way we see things then why would we chose to see things as anything “less than”?

Perhaps we need our let-downs to show us how deep the well-spring is, but if we linger at the bottom we will only drown ourselves, and not because we have to but because we allowed ourselves to remain there.  The flip side is that by reaching into our own depth we can get a glimmer of how much possibility we have, and even if it appears dark at the moment we can close our eyes and see by the starlight.  Its a new day.
