It’s no joke that today’s start of a new 13 day cycle begins with the voice of the vulture. How many walk away from such an idea? How many people want a change in their life, but are unwilling to look at what they have right now and allow the transformation from the wiggly little cocoon into the butterfly? Eww, its just too messy, right?
Tuesday, March 23, 2010 is 1 Cib, the Vulture in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. I find it amazing, ironic, funny, and all-too-close-to-home that I had not already written the posting for today as I had for the prior to assure the posts appeared during my absence at a seminar. What was this seminar about? The outside cover doesn’t matter, but the inside does: transformation. Professional growth and getting my message across, those were a part of the weekend. I return home, and what did I find: the exact same place I was at before the inspirational weekend.
So today’s post comes as a blessing, both to hear it for myself, and to write it – giving me no choice but to focus on this topic. Most of our transformations come about in a way that we don’t notice or think about it. Children transform all the time, in their learning and growing. What happens in our adult years? How many finish lines have you created that, once you cross that line, you’ll be there? There is a complacency that comes once we’ve completed anything, how could we ever give that up and stand in the same place for the rest of our lives?
Today is Cib, the Vulture, handed the role of carrying us into a new cycle with that transformational twist. Where we take it from here is our choice.
