Today for reason I cannot yet fathom the story comes not in its usual form. Today the story is just that, a story, a moment of fiction.
“‘It’s not yet too late to turn back’, whispers the alligator from its vague location deep within my hidden thoughts. As I look about I see no clear direction, the land lies flat and is speckled with brush as though no one had pass this way before. Surely this cannot be my chosen direction, for no where in this moment can I relate to anything before me.
‘It’s not yet too late to turn back’, echoes the voice that has no master. Still I cannot turn and walk away. Something is calling me, though I cannot describe what it could be. A gentle wind has found me in this midst of this wasteland, leading me in a direction I still no nothing about, yet I must follow, and know about this presence that beckons me onward.”
Sunday, March 28, 2010 is 6 Imix, the Alligator in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. The alligator is a sign of an ancient form, not just in time but also evolution: the beginning of time, the crawl from the mud, and a voice so ancient that it finds no words to announce its findings.
Tomorrow brings us to the counterpoint of this foundation for living, bringing in the wind that pushes through the density of its vessel and creates breath, the first sign of life.
