As I began to write today’s post, giving the spotlight to another combination of glyph and tone in the Mayan Calendar, I started writing about the number system. Just about as quickly as I typed the first sentence it was also erased. I reminded myself to be still for a moment and listen to what the day has to say, rather than risk defining it by intellect alone.
What I found in the imagery presented to me is the stillness found when we step away from our mind chatter and action-oriented world. You see, these next two days give us two glyphs that bring us gently to a new level. We have to take that step, seeing ourselves for even a moment as something that exists beyond the hustle and bustle. Then we can move on to our law of attraction, manifestation, or “on earth as it is in heaven”. All of those things I just mentioned have one thing in common, and it is not their cosmic origin, it is you. We can have an excess of “all that is” and nothing comes of it if we are not receptive to it.
Allow me to go back to my origin interpretation for today. I started by saying that there is a big difference between numerology and its 10 numbers, and the Mayan calendar and its 13 numbers. In numerology the center-point is the number 5, a number that I see as turbulent. In Maya the center-point is 7, which is focused on us as spirit. Presence is always preceded by creating a space for it, which takes us back to the number six, a sign I see of reflection. Our world chatter loves the turbulence. Which do you want, turmoil or the gentle hand of spirit?
There’s a big difference between body and spirit. Both have their purpose and value, but neither is intended to be our “everything”. Friday, April 23, 2010 is 6 Manik, which means Deer in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. Today is here with the a gentle reminder that we need only step a little bit outside of the chatter to see a new perspective.
