The rainstorm can carry with it both benefit in awareness of what we have received, as well as the ability to wash away what is not of value. Bring in enough rain and you could extinguish the spark of Edznab that appeared so strongly yesterday. How often do we overlook the power of the rainstorm? A single drop of rain would make little difference, and may go unnoticed, but a rainstorm is more difficult to ignore.
Thursday, April 15, 2010 is 11 Cauac, the Rainstorm in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. So this day could go either way, depending on our perspective. The rainstorm is here, with many little reminders to remember what we have gained and how it affects us. Drop by drop it may appear that the rainstorm has little value. Day by day may appear the same, but it all adds up, good and bad. Even an excess can be viewed from two perspectives: we can drown in our sorrows, or sail away.
