For some reason I felt a little excited when I prepared myself for writing today’s post. Noting that quirky little smile I also questioned why and my curious nature came to life as I focused on what day it was in the combination of day tone and mayan glyph.
Why do I like the Mayan calendar? It’s so much more interesting than our current calendar system. While it’s good to have a familiar easy to remember day system how does our calendar serve us? In the Mayan calendar there is so much more depth, bringing focus not to the sun and the moon but to who I am and the many attributes that make me such an incredible creation.
The Mayan calendar cycles in a most playful way: circling two wheels with different counts, always giving a different combination. Isn’t that life, finding those new twists, seeing things in a new light?
I laughed when I saw the combination for today. You see, I find the Vulture symbol called Cib to be a very creative, healing and freeing influence in our lives. Its tough to wake up the next morning if we never let the sun set. The crops of spring have no space to grow if last years do not fade away. There is also no room for the next breath if we don’t let ourselves exhale.
Today is 2 Cib, and today let us be reminded that everything is relational, and everything serves a purpose. Letting go links directly to our next step, giving us space for another adventure.
