Yesterday we talked about the hall of mirrors and taking things for face value. Look at a diamond in the rough and it appears very plain. Same goes for a lot of people. Today we talk about another perspective known as Cauac the rainstorm.
Today is 5 Cauac the Rainstorm in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. The number five is a very active number in my viewpoint, not one of those touchy feely places where we feel at home. It symbolizes stepping up into the dream. No, let me correct myself, it’s not about the dream, it is that place where we know there is more to life, knowing that there is tomorrow. It is knowing that there is more outside of the safe space we call home.
With the influence of yesterday’s illusions I see the rainstorm as a way of clearing out the smoke screen. The image of a rainstorm in the tropics comes to mind. Not a single plant complains about the rainstorm as it is pounding down. The rainstorm washes away whatever has accumulated on the outside. The rainstorm supports life, not what sticks on the outside.
Why should we ever complain about letting go of the things that stick on the outside? That would be buying into that crazy lack-based mentality. Still, we do it. Luckily we have the opportunity to look into that mirror day after day and at some point realize that we can take a different approach to life.
