It’s amazing how complex and interwoven our world is, yet how simple each aspect of life can be. It’s like looking into a prism, seeing how the light reflects in response to the angle. For every answer there might be another perspective.
Today is 9 Muluc, the Water in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. As I closed my eyes, and silenced my mind so that I could see the simple message for this day I was captivated by the sight of the rain, so many drops falling, each falling separately with little significance, yet together they can make such a big impact. As the rain falls and a ray of light crosses within its path something magical happens. Somehow we see colors streaming across the sky, transitioning from one band of color to the next. It is as if we could reach out and touch that amazing sight, yet it not tangible, it is not something you can hold within your hand.
We jump now from this perspective of the magic of the water, the prism effect found in the number nine and the glyph of Muluc. Why so much focus on little drops of water, or rainbows streaming across the sky? As we see the world around us there is a point of impact within. There are those times when the moments of our life seems insignificant, yet together those moments can hold great significance. Then there are those times when something we have accomplished is held up to the light, the light of recognition, and suddenly the prism effect takes hold. Suddenly we see the amazing effect when our purpose and passion burst into an array that can only be described as magical. It’s all in the way we hold the prism, and stand within the light.
