A few days ago we talked about the earth and the medicine wheel. Within this wheel we have the four directions, but the wheel does not stop there. What good are directions without the earth beneath our feet or the light above us? What good is any of it without something in the center of it all? There is a time and place for everything, and so long as we see ourselves in the middle then we become that “everything”.
Let’s take a stretch of the imagination for a moment, and focus on one aspect of the wheel. There we are standing in the middle, able to turn in the four directions, and no matter which way we turn we are always supported by the earth beneath our feet. Take it a little further but as we turn upon this earth we always do so within the light.
Today in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar the wheels turn to the combination of 7 Ahau, the Light. Our entire world is illuminated by this light. We are constantly beamed the radiating life-force, and what if we assign to that life-force the role of our consciousness. The light is the center of our solar system, and we journey around this light.
Time for the stretch: imagine that you are that light, centered and illuminated with the world revolving around you. You are the source for everything within your world, giving life to everything you create. Given this perspective could we perhaps see a little more clearly how important we are, each and every one of us, and how much our radiating light gives life to everything we create and every step we take? Take a look from the perspective of the 7th element in the Medicine Wheel, the Light of Ahau, and from this viewpoint you can look around at your world and say, “You are my everything”. Is this self centered? Yes, and in this perspective that’s a good thing.
