I don’t often refer to video’s in my postings but today the image that comes to my vision is the movie The Green Mile. If you have not seen it, this movie falls right in line with the concepts presented today by the Mayan Calendar combination of 7 Cimi.
The primary focus of the movie is death, which is the english description of Cimi, and there is plenty of focus on the questions related to wrong doings, execution, and the imprisonment of the innocent. The deeper focus of the movie is the gifts of John Coffey, and the effect he has on the lives of those he encounters.
The path to enlightenment draws us with an intensity that parallels our individual path. Not everyone is drawn toward “enlightenment”, whatever that means. There are times when a new pathway of thinking is opened by some event that is tragic or completely unbelievable in our current mindset.
Today in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar we have 7 Cimi, the glyph known as death. Today’s post is not about answers, it is about questions. Many questions are offered in the movie The Green Mile:
- Can we transform ourselves instantaneously?
- Do our beliefs and past experiences define the truth. or hide our potential?
- Can energy be transferred from one person to another?
- Does death free us from pain?
Cimi, the Mayan symbol of Death, is not to be feared. We transform all the time, converting food into energy. Seen in this light this would mean that transformation, the death of one form, actually gives life. Today is the 7th day or tone, drawing our attention to the magical spiritual side of Cimi. This marker in our consciousness is there to help us step past our fears of the unknown and see that change, in this world, brings life.
