Over the last several days we have talked of the light so much, how it is reflected in the raindrops, and permeates the world without even trying. One example of the ease in which the light touches our world came yesterday with the full moon, bringing together the yin and the yang as sun and moon together held us in esteem.
Today we celebrate yet again, not just the light that gives us life but that we are more than just walking life forms that fade in and out of this world. We are beings of light, spiritually speaking, who have gathered here for whatever reason. Think of all that comes together to give us life: the light of the sun, the rock on which we live, the water and many elements that form together in a cellular collection that grows, digests, moves, and holds consciousness. It’s amazing when we look at it from this perspective.
Today in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar we have the combination of 10 Ik, the Wind. God, are we lucky, or what? (Instill in that sentence whatever meaning you wish, and that is how it is intended). The tone of 10 looks at the overall results, what we have to work with every day and so often take for granted. Ik, the wind, makes us more than a collection of cells that magically work together so independently yet as one. Yet collectively as people we have such a difficult time seeing us beyond ourselves or our family as such, moving independently but as one.
Let’s take it back a notch or two though, and focus on today with the combination in the Mayan calendar of 10 and Ik, the Wind, or Breath, as a time to remember how blessed life is.
