Each time I write a posting here in Mayan Daily Insights I follow several steps before I do any typing. I step out of the auto-response generated by the mind, so that the concepts do not come from my own life experience or way of thinking, but they come instead from the universal consciousness. Next I clear my psychic visual space, which could be seen as clearing the dry-erase board, the projector, and the clearing the entire room top to bottom in my creative workspace. After that step I gather my attention, my focus and energies, in the that newly cleared space so that my writing gets 100 percent of my consciousness. That last step I mentioned was talked about yesterday, getting yourself centered in all aspects so you can be at your peak. All these steps and we haven’t even touched on today’s combination of glyph and tone in the Mayan calendar. Let’s let the cat out of the bag now, shall we? Today we have 12 Edznab, the Flint. Today as I focused on the power embedded in this simple little glyph I found myself back at the basics, taking two pieces of earth and creating a spark, the beginnings of fire. In our advanced lifestyles and complex world today that may seem primitive and simplistic, but if you were in the elements without your “stuff” you would appreciate the power of the flint.
The actions of the flint are much like the actions of our own creativity. You must have a meeting of consciousness and resources to create anything, and the spark is created when you are focused and dedicated to the task, bringing the flint together with intent and force. You will not find success while underwater or in the rainstorm, nor in the winds, meaning that first you must make sure the conditions are right, clearing yourself of whatever might dampen your own spark. Pretty darn simple, according to the Mayan calendar in its combination of 12, wisdom, and Edznab, Flint : this is how great ideas come to life.
