What is the true measure of success? Is it the amount of money we can accumulate, or is the expression, “He who dies with the most toys wins” an accurate statement? Funny thing is that we come and we go, and the objects rarely contribute to life itself.
I think that our true measure of success is found in our ability to create, to give life. It doesn’t matter if we express that life-giving by birthing, building, or helping others expand consciousness, they are all ways to create, and each holds its place in this world. I can’t stop here though, saying that creating is the end-all reason. We have the ability to enjoy the fruits of our labor, watch our children grow, see the banner passed as those around us take what we have taught and expand it into something new. This is the message presented today by the combination of glyph and tone that creates 6 Chicchan, the Serpent.
Our true measure of success is how many times we can ask for even more. We can apply ourselves and create something useful and when we receive compensation for that creation we are often inspired to repeat the process. When we feel love in our hearts we long for more of the same. There is value in the things we have, money included, but their light pales when held up to the things that bring us happiness and inspire us to live on.
