We see the number two as a relational number, and so today we will look at mankind in a relational sense, but what lies on the other side of that relational space? Do we look at ourselves in relation to our source or creator, carrying forward the questions we asked in yesterdays posting?
Today in the Mayan calendar the wheels turn to 2 Imix, the Alligator. Life would not be life without something relational. We may think of ourselves as singular, yet its the joining of two people that created the one. In our mind we may have conflicts that cause us to question, but even if we truly believed that our opinion was always the right one we still have two. There must always be a thought that acknowledges that another thought is the right one. It’s all relational.
Life is relational, and it flows in a way that is always off balance. Sure its fine that we try to create harmony, but can we ever achieve it, and if we did could we still exist? We always have greater than and less than in every moment of every day.
As example we could take this talk about relationship to our greatest example, and that is what we call a relationship. We can have two people who see themselves as equal, but there will always be a subtle imbalance. To drill deeper into this example let’s look at a conversation. One person speaks, sharing ideas and expressing, and the other listens. The listener is diminished in their own sharing and expression, at least for this moment, but that is what makes a conversation great: we give, we receive, we exchange and walk away with something that is at least a little different than the moment before.
We can only separate ourselves just so much from the world we live in, and again as 2 Imix the Alligator shows us how interactive life must be, being of the world and apart at the same time. We live in a relational space and always make comparisons. We compare ourselves to the animal kingdom, by nation creed or race, and by sex. How we treat the other, by comparison, has little to do with the other. After all, look at what is on the one side, it is alway us. The idea of “greater than” or “less than” perception is just that, it’s a perception, not an absolute but something we create, for every little thing, great or small, is equally a part of this world.
