Today begins a new 13 day cycle in the Mayan Calendar, starting with the combination of 1 Ben, the Reed, and ending with the thirteenth day focusing on Chicchan, the monkey on a day that is my personal celebration day each year.
Yesterday we spoke about the road, how each step can be filled with so many amazing things, and seen through the eyes of consciousness. Today we carry that same message forward as the Mayan Daily Insights delves deeper than ever before. Today let’s talk about capacity. We’re given a life filled with individual breaths, in a world taken one step at a time. We’ve got so many little bites that make it easy enough to chew and digest not just our food but our life experiences. Yet we as human, with our great thinking minds, also accumulate.
Have we reached our capacity? Some are overloaded, using words like “stress” to describe their condition. Others stand in each moment in their own being-ness and are able to see the vast resources available to build what will come next, yet they choose only what they need, and only what will serve. We’ll talk more about what will serve in the next couple of days.
We have capacity, sometimes filling ourselves with too many details, making the story more important than the storyteller. Do we use our ability for capacity any better than we utilize our brain? I guess we could say, “We do the best we can at the moment”. Perhaps, just like our brain that is supposedly used to only 10 percent of its capacity. We’re still learning, and growing, and becoming those people who will carry forward in the years beyond 2012.
