What Happens When We Choose Wisely

Yesterday seemed to be a big set up for today’s topic, the art of letting go.  My early day was filled with things that could have been upsets, but I didn’t let them go in that direction.  From the stories I heard from others there were similar observations.  I finally stopped and asked the question:  do you ever feel like life dangles something in your face that could obviously go either way, just to see how you will react?

The part I like in this story is that not one of those people I talked with took the harder direction, despite the circumstances they faced.  They were far too committed to accomplish what they planned for the day.  This is what happens when we choose wisely: it is not getting lost in a sink or swim situation.

That was yesterday, and today is obviously today.  I feel the stories heard were a clear set up for today’s message.  Today in the turning of the Mayan calendar and its two circles, we have the combination of 10 Cib, the vulture.

This week has been filled with connectivity between the messages embedded in the ancient Mayan calendar and our present day concepts of personal and business success.  Ideas have been tossed around like: being flexible enough to be creative so you can build something new; applying your time and energy in a way that produces exactly what is needed.

When those upsets come along, and they will, they could be seen in many ways: as omens of doom if you want to go that far, but most of the time people will use them as escape routes to get out of their own chosen pathway but blame it on some bad thing that happened to them.  Let’s go back to the Mayan thing again: Cib is very strongly tied to the universal focus, and many people look at that as the great potential, something unseen.  Buddhism talks about stepping out the thought, and that could be interpreted as ‘checking out’ or going unconscious.  Believe me: Cib, the sign of the Vulture is a very conscious symbol.

Today’s message:  know what you are doing, pay attention, and let go of the things that don’t matter.  When we try to juggle too many things, or fill our minds with useless details we are distracted and overwhelmed.  How will you accomplish great things when you are distracted?  Choose wisely: the next few days could be great ones, if we let them, and are ready to accept the consequences for our decisions.
