It’s easy to slip into the “day in, day out” patterns, falling into a waking slumber. Today as I look at the combination in the Mayan calendar of tone and glyph I do not see this as one of those days. In the Mayan Tzolkin calendar we have the combination of 3 Imix, the Alligator.
Three is a very energized number, in fact I immediately think of the old symbol for nuclear energy. Should we take heed, consider this energized symbol to be a warning? Perhaps so, for we may someday regret our actions, creating something powerful that runs amok or is used in a destructive way. Power plants and danger aside, let’s talk about the story behind the Mayan calendar combination, and what let us to this point.
Let’s just say that two steps lead us to results. What are the last two days in the Mayan Tzolkin? We had 1 Cauac, the Rainstorm, full of purpose and depth, yet flexibility. Then we have 2 Ahau, the Light, the pure spiritual force or consciousness that is able to say, “Make it so”, and it happens. Today we have 3 Imix, the impression made upon this earth by our purposeful use of our own power.
We are able to gather together and create amazing changes on this planet. We are also capable of falling into that waking slumber, allowing whatever force is out there to guide us in a direction we may or may not want.
The point? Making conscious, purposeful choices, for we have to live with the results. As far as 2012 goes, we are in a time of great power, and if we choose to remain in that waking slumber then our fears of what will happen in 2012 may be justified after all.
