Have you ever described life as a roller coaster, a series of ups and downs? When we create success we want to stay high at the crest of the experience, and we want that wave to last as long as it possibly can. Eventually though every up has its down.
Today’s combination of glyph and tone in the Mayan calendar is 5 Cib, the Vulture. The vulture is a long honored raptor attributed to the qualities of transformation. Without transformation how do we every support life? The seed must grow, transforming into the new life that produces the food we eat. The commitment and knowledge we use today produces the paycheck of tomorrow. Life is a series of transformation, so why would we ever look at the vulture as anything but a trusted friend.
When we look at that wave of success that we ride on we have to realize that it is always in motion. Something built the momentum, and guess who that is? We take what we’ve got for the moment, accept the outcome, and build toward the next great adventure. That is the cycle of life, the ever-changing world. Transforming our thoughts into actions, and actions into outcome. We give it our all, but we don’t make one moment our everything for we have a whole lifetime to experience.
As far as those “let-downs”, let’s think about it. The only time we complain that life “let me down” is when something doesn’t reach the desired outcome, and do you really want to hang on to something that didn’t follow through? Hold on to the things that support you, and let the rest return to raw materials once again so you can have what you need to build the next great step in life. Cib, the Vulture would only be letting you down if you were left to linger in what was, not what is and will be.
