Life On Earth: Limited Capacity

The title of this posting might give the impression  that our topic is the overpopulation of this world. No, that might be brought into the story later on, but at this point we’re talking of something completely different.  If you are new to the Mayan Daily Insights allow me to explain, the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, the spiritual calendar of that ancient civilization, combines numbers and images each day with 260 combinations.  We look at one combination each day, and my intuitive interpretation is designed to guide us into a thought or idea that inspires greater consciousness and recognition of our abilities.

Today we have the combination of 7 Ben, the Reed.  The reed could be viewed in two ways, as the hollow vessel and as the plant that was used in ancient times to create so many useful things.  I see it as both no matter which way we look at it.

The focus today is that when we look at life on earth there is limited capacity, or limited supply.  The reed was quite abundant in those ancient times, but misuse could have exhausted that supply, forever ending its usefulness.  We see it today with our oil reserves, and we hear stories of vast supplies as well as scares of eventually running this resource dry.  Life here is a blessing and a curse.

Let’s step away now from the global views of overpopulation and limited resources, and bring the focus in a little bit closer, to a place where we can thrive and create for ourselves.  Our body is our vessel for our time here in this world, and our consciousness or soul resides within that space.  Time itself is of limited supply, and what we can accomplish or fit within a moment is also limited.  Life on earth, it is about limited capacity.  Yet we are creative souls, and for every moment we can fit in an immense amount of experience.  A tremendous amount of spirit can fit within a moment, making that moment the most divine, delicious of moments.  Stack them together into a lifetime, and we see that what is perceived as  something small is actually quite grand.

The message of 7 ben, the Reed – “Life on earth: it is limited capacity.  If something is limited we see it of greater value, and therefore we should see our life, and all live as something to be treasured.”
