Today in the Mayan calendar we delve into the world of 7 Etznab, the Flint. One thing is for certain, that seen or not seen, one step leads to the next. Yesterday we focused on the vast world, that everything we need is within our reach, and the possibilities of combinations and interpretations gives us what seems like an endless supply of potential new creations.
Today we take a different perspective, looking beyond the playground or workspace. Where do our ideas come from? Is the creation also the creator, or is there some unseen influence that makes us long for more, seek out something new? How do we ever form intentions?
There are so many concepts as to where our creativity and imagination come from: there is the idea of a cosmic force that is our higher consciousness, placing the power outside this world we live in; and there is the idea that our creative side and storehouse of knowledge are held inside our brain, making our inner world a universe within itself. Either way it adds up to the same – there is a part of us that is the creator, and we are both creator and product of our creativity.
Most of our attention is given to the creation, and for good reason. We apply ourselves to the task at hand, and enrich ourselves with the experiences of living. There is the other aspect, too, the consciousness that shines the light in any given direction. Today we focus on that aspect of self, whether its in us, around us, above or .. below. We are that spark, the Flint. When we take a moment every now and then to recognize that part of ourselves then we stop being our own creation, and can more clearly see the choices we make and our own direction.
