Mayan Daily Insights

What stories can be found within the glyphs and tones that combine to make the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar? Is this ancient spiritual system symbolic of our life journey, and can it help us to find our own answers and discover within our many empowering qualities?

Learn More About the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar

Many of the creations of the Mayan culture have been lost in transitions and acts over time.  There are many threads that do still exist, giving us insights into the spiritual teachings presented in those ancient times.  Some think the Mayan culture was an alien group that suddenly left.  Others think that the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, and many other wisdoms in the Mayan days were carried forth from some other civilization, point toward ancient Egypt, or the mythical land called Atlantis.

No one has the definitive answer as to the meaning of the many symbols or glyphs, nor their origin.  We all must agree on one thing, that given a chance these symbols give us opportunity to think, to expand our own consciousness.  This is the intent and direction of the Mayan Daily Insights – it is not about the box created by our interpretation, creating a static container to live within.  No, it is about the content itself, the expression of our soul within a world.

There are many great books that can each play a part in your own exploration of self.  I share with you some of those books.  I also invite you to purchase my own writings:  Being Here Now and Now Is The Time To Believe.  These two books are available in ebook format.

Books – Mayan Tzolkin and Related Topics

Here are some of the Mayan Tzolkin related books I have enjoyed, or come as recommendations by others:

The Codex Borgia

This book is more of a picture book, with a handful of information that is delightfully pure and free of interpretation.  That said, it does not give much in the way of a pathway between the image and its meaning, or the connection between the “all that is” and our own lives.  Still, I give it a 5 star rating, for the value of seeing the symbols helps us create our pathway to understanding.

Jaguar Wisdom

This book gives an introduction into the spiritual concepts and magical interpretations of the Mayan calendar.

It makes an interesting read as well as a great reference book, delving into the Mayan Tzolkin calendar as well as Mayan astrology.

The Alchemy of Nine Dimensions

Barbara Hand Clow offers some interesting perspectives based on channeled reading information. She speaks of the Mayan calendar as well as the The Pleiadian Agenda, and our quest or destiny to develop in our own consciousness. This may not be “traditional” in the sense of the Maya, but neither is the Mayan Daily Insights – both delve into the soul-consciousness, integrating our wisdom and purpose into our thoughts and actions. This book parallels the Mayan Daily insights and the by email, rising above our day presence limitations and giving focus to the higher, more powerful self.

Popol Vuh: The Definitive Edition of The Mayan Book of The Dawn of Life and The Glories of Gods and Kings

The Popol Vuh is the Quiché Mayan book of creation. This ancient writing may be considered the spiritual text of the Maya, writings that come across more like stories of the acts of gods, like many of the ancient texts like the Books of Enoch or the Egyptian Book of the Dead have offered. This reading is not always easy to interpret on a body-consciousness level, but is fascinating nonetheless.

The 8 Calendars of the Maya: The Pleiadian Cycle and the Key to Destiny

The Mayan Tzolkin calendar is one of many calendars created and used by the Mayans. In the Tzek’eb we explore the sacred relationship between Earth and the Pleiades. In our sacred tradition, our lives synchronize with the whole cosmos because our Sun is part of the Pleiadian star system. The 8 Calendars of the Maya: The Pleiadian Cycle and the Key to Destiny.

Atlantis and 2012: The Science of the Lost Civilization and the Prophecies of the Maya

The Mayan Calendar was invented by the combined genius of Atlantis and Lemuria and describes how it predicts an eternal cycle of global creation, destruction, and renewal. 2012 could be the start of a new ice age and the advent of a massive solar storm. However, Joseph shows that the Maya knew the way to reestablish civilization’s cosmic balance before time runs out. Tarot and Oracles Cards

There are again many choices.  I have the book for Wisdom of the Maya, but do not have the oracle cards.  Still I have enjoyed reading this book.

I own two decks of oracle cards that relate to the Mayan Tzolkin, only one made it on my recommended list. Others are on my wish list! If you have any of these and would like to share your experience, I’d love to hear about it! Here’s what I have:

the mayan oracleThe Mayan Oracle: Return Path to the Stars

This deck is fun and inviting, and the images are inviting and enjoyable. I’ve used this deck as a tool in many intuitive and soul-representative sessions, and each of my clients has shared their delight as they learn about their spiritual purpose, seeing how their higher purpose is interwoven into their day-to-day world. This is an oracle deck, not tarot, and I have developed my own style of using this tool as a part of my Mayan-related sessions.
